El proyecto est\u00e1 financiado por la Agencia Japonesa de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda (JST) y la Agencia Japonesa de Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional (JICA). Participan de esta iniciativa representantes del Servicio Meteorol\u00f3gico Nacional (SMN), que conduce Celeste Saulo, del Instituto Nacional del Agua (INA) y del CONICET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al respecto, la Jefa comunal se\u00f1al\u00f3: \u201cRecorrimos la Cuenca Sarand\u00ed-Santo Domingo y participamos de la presentaci\u00f3n del proyecto PREVENIR, financiado por el programa SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development, en espa\u00f1ol, Asociaci\u00f3n para la Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica y Tecnol\u00f3gica para un Desarrollo Sostenible). Esta es una iniciativa cient\u00edfica entre Argentina y Jap\u00f3n para la predicci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica hidrometeorol\u00f3gica y el desarrollo de un sistema de alerta temprana que reduzca el impacto de las inundaciones repentinas. De esta forma, vamos a trabajar de manera articulada con Municipios vecinos para reducir los riesgos y los da\u00f1os a nuestra comunidad\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PREVENIR tiene como objetivo desarrollar un sistema de pron\u00f3stico integral hidrometeorol\u00f3gico y a corto plazo para la detecci\u00f3n temprana de eventos de inundaciones repentinas asociadas a lluvias intensas con un foco particular en aquellos eventos que ocurren en ciudades densamente pobladas. El proyecto contempla una colaboraci\u00f3n estrecha entre instituciones de investigaci\u00f3n en Jap\u00f3n y organismos cient\u00edfico-t\u00e9cnicos en Argentina para el desarrollo de soluciones y herramientas novedosas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las actividades se centran en el desarrollo y optimizaci\u00f3n del sistema de pron\u00f3sticos hidrometeorol\u00f3gicos para dos cuencas piloto: la cuenca de los r\u00edos Sarand\u00ed y Santo Domingo, en el sur del conurbano bonaerense y la cuenca del r\u00edo Suqu\u00eda, en la provincia de C\u00f3rdoba. La parte de la cuenca Sarand\u00ed-Santo Domingo que m\u00e1s poblaci\u00f3n tiene es la de Quilmes, o sea que va a estar muy focalizado en las zonas aleda\u00f1as a los arroyos en Quilmes.
