Desde el 12 de junio de 2024, el Aer\u00f3dromo local se llama \u201cBerazategui, Alas de Malvinas\u201d. Esto fue posible por decisi\u00f3n de los socios del Aeroclub R\u00edo de la Plata (instituci\u00f3n propietaria del Aer\u00f3dromo), con el apoyo de la Municipalidad de Berazategui, en respuesta al deseo de homenajear a los veteranos de la Guerra de Malvinas.<\/strong>
Marcos Cornejo Krebs, presidente del Aeroclub, afirm\u00f3 al respecto: \u201cEl 12 de junio de este a\u00f1o, el Aer\u00f3dromo del Aeroclub R\u00edo de la Plata pas\u00f3 a llamarse \u2018Berazategui, Alas de Malvinas\u2019. Hist\u00f3ricamente se llam\u00f3 \u2018Ezpeleta\u2019, porque en 1956 -cuando los socios fundadores formaron una cooperativa y comenzaron con sus primeras actividades aeron\u00e1uticas- Berazategui a\u00fan formaba parte de Quilmes y se estilaba que esos espacios tomaran el nombre de la estaci\u00f3n de tren m\u00e1s cercana. Con el tiempo surgi\u00f3 la inquietud de los socios porque el Aer\u00f3dromo est\u00e1 emplazado en esta ciudad y su nombre correspond\u00eda a una localidad de otro distrito\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es as\u00ed que, en una Asamblea de socios, se tom\u00f3 la decisi\u00f3n de renombrar a este espacio emblem\u00e1tico de acuerdo a su ubicaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica, con el objetivo -adem\u00e1s- de construir su identidad en el municipio en el cual se inserta socialmente.
En este sentido, Juli\u00e1n Lima -prosecretario del Aeroclub- coment\u00f3: \u201cCuando se tom\u00f3 esta decisi\u00f3n, junto a la Municipalidad de Berazategui -a cargo de Juan Jos\u00e9 Mussi-, ideamos hacer una Vigilia por el D\u00eda del Veterano de Malvinas (2 de abril) y decidimos buscar un nombre alusivo a la fecha. Es as\u00ed que se decidi\u00f3 acompa\u00f1ar el nombre del Aer\u00f3dromo \u2018Berazategui\u2019 con \u2018Alas de Malvinas\u2019\u201d.
Finalmente, Krebs destac\u00f3: \u201cEs una alegr\u00eda compartir este hecho, era una deuda pendiente, un reconocimiento a los veteranos de Malvinas, a nuestra historia\u2026 hacemos honor a ellos.
